"Once upon a time"
My son and I were discussing the advancements of solar systems and their applications. Being licensed commercial electricians with 15+ years of experience, we were familiar with the solar industry. After conducting further research, we determined solar technology had advanced to the point that 1 solar panel could be installed on the roof of a golf cart. We also determined that if the panel wattage was great enough, no conventional plug-in charging would be required under most travel conditions. In addition, the solar system would add up to 30% longer travel range and extend the battery bank’s life by years, before needing an expensive replacement.
I recently moved to Coronado, California, and purchased a golf cart, and we installed a system on my cart. I was able to travel 8 months without conventional charging and it was only necessary to plug in due to extended travel at night in some limited instances.
We then began telling our friends and neighbors and advertising in the local Coronado newspaper. The idea was accepted in the community, and many carts were converted to solar power.

Due to our success, we have expanded to all of San Diego County and have begun installing solar systems on RVs and boats.
